Alison Chang is the Principal Timpanist of the Houston Grand Opera and the Houston Ballet. She is also the Principal Timpanist of the Michigan Opera Theater, a position she has held since 2014. Born in Taichung, Taiwan Alison studied at the San Francisco Conservatory with David Herbert, and also at the Boston Conservatory. She has also held the position of Principal Timpanist of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago
