Julian Romero Pacheco is member of the percussion section of the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional of Mexico (OSN) since 1992; in 2002 he won the national contest to occupy the position as Principal Timpanist and Chief of the Percussion section, of the aforementioned Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, the most representative orchestra in Mexico.

With this orchestra he has toured national and internationally, acting in some of the most important scenes such as “Carnegie Hall” in New York, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Center “, Concertgebouw (Amsterdam-Holland), Konzerthaus (Berlin-Germany) Gewandhaus (Leipzig -Germany, Palais des Beaux Arts (Brussels-Belgium). Theatre Le Chatelet (Paris-France) Salzburg-Austria. “Großes Festpielhaus”, Liubliana-Slovenia “Jacobus Gallus Hall”, Paderborn- Germany “Rudolf Oetker Halle”, Erlangen-Germany “Heinrich-Lades-Halle”, Friedrichshafen- Germany “Graf Zeppelin Haus”, Vienna-Austria “Musikverein”, Köln- Germany “Kölner Philharmonie” and Frankfurt- Germany “Alter Oper”.

He also has collaborate and shared the stage in International and National Percussion Festivals with some of the most important soloists and composer in the world like Nebojsa Jovan Zivkovic, Takayoshi Yoshioka, Duncan Patton, Robert van Sice, Jonathan Haas, Philip Glass and Dame Evelyn Glennie.

As a soloist Maestro Romero performed regularly with some of the most acclaimed orchestra like the Lousiana Philharmonic Orchestra in New Orleans. In México with Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa, Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes, Orquesta Sinfónica Carlos Chávez, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco and of course the with important conductors such as Carlos Miguel Prieto and Enrique Diemecke.

In 2016 he act as an international soloist with the Lousiana Philharmonic conducted by Carlos Miguel Prieto performing the “Concert for Marimba and Orchestra” by Guatemalan composer Jorge Sarmientos. He act as a soloist with Orquesta Sinfónica of Xalapa performing “The Glory and The Grandeur” In 2011 Romero Pacheco share the stage with Jonathan Haas, performing Philip Glass´s Concerto Fantasy for Two Timpanists and Orchestra, In 2008 he act as a soloist with the most important soloist “Robert Van Sice with the OSN conducted by Maestro Shinik Ham performing the Concert for two Marimbas and Orchestra “Grace Concerto” by Americam composer Martin Bresnick.

In 2005 he acted as a soloist with the OSN performing the “Concert for Marimba and Orchestra” by Japanese composer Takayoshi Yoshioka.

In 2004 as part of the “XXVI International Forum of New Music Manuel Enriquez” and again with the OSN he performed the world premiere of the work by composer Andrew R. Glover, “Cretan Dragonfly” for vibraphone, flute and orchestra.

In 2003 he performed the “Concert for Marimba and Orchestra” by Paul Creston with the OSN. In 2002 he toured with the OSN across the U.S.A.

In 2001 he gets his degree as a Soloist in Percussions granted by the Conservatorio Nacional de Música of Mexico.

He is also a professor of Percussions at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música of Mexico and is currently part of the faculty at the Escuela de perfeccionamiento Vida y Movimiento at the Cultural Centre Ollin Yoliztli.
