Tristan BLUM is an active musician as percussionist, teacher, and composer. After studying classical piano, he joined the CNR of Metz in 1991 in the class of Eric Chartier then got 4 first prizes in percussion and chamber music. A few years later, he will take part in the Acantes Center, which has approached the great composers of contemporary music (P. Manoury, H.Dutilleux, P.Boulez and I.Xenakis), and Sylvio Gualda, timpanist of the Paris Opera .

For more than ten years, he regularly plays in Paris as a timpanist and percussionist with conductors such as Paul Kuentz, Amine Kouider, Dominique Fanal, and many others. In recent years, he has performed at the Musica Festival (Strasbourg), at the Pontlevoy Festival, at the Monthodon’s Festival Les Heures Romantiques, at the Théatre des Bouffes du Nord, as well as at the Madeleine Church, at UNESCO, in Paris,Le Cirque d’Hiver, the Salle Gaveau, at Théatre du Châtelet and the Seine Musical, Cathedral Chartres, Rheims, Vannes and the famous Monaco Music Festival. In parallel with classical music, he is interested in jazz and improvised music through percussion keyboards and founded his own jazz quintet that allows him to play his own repertoire with vibraphone.
Tristan Blum also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Musicology, a State Diploma, a CNFPT competition and an International Prize (Fermo). In 2017 he was also laureate of the PEA professional exam. Tristan currently teaches at the Conservatoire de Suresnes /Paris.
